Because going back to everyday life, on Monday--can be hard. {loves this monday, mommas}

Because sometimes, after leaving the place we all gather for worship- whether it be a building, a living room, or a park with a group of people--

going back to everyday life, on Monday--can be hard.

Remembering today, that worship is more than the stage.  more than a song. more than a man. It's that sweet Jesus of ours-- and the glory of Him using little 'ol broken people like us to do His work. The most wonderful news of all? He uses us every day, not just on Sunday. Oh! the joy!

"Clear the stage and set the sounds and lights ablaze if
that’s the measure you must take to crush the idols

Jerk the pews and all the decorations too, until the
congregations few that have revival

Tell your friends that this is where the party ends,
until your broken for your sins you can’t be social

Seek the Lord and wait for what he has in store, and
know that great is your reward so just be hopeful,

Cause you can sing all you want to
Yes you can, sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to and still get it wrong
Oh worship is more than a song

Take a break from all the plans that you have made, and
sit home alone and wait for God to whisper

Beg him please to open his mouth and speak and pray for
real upon your knees until they blister

Shine the light on every corner of your life until the
pride, and lust, and lies are in the open

Then read the word and put to test the things you’ve
heard until your heart and soul are stirred and rocked
and broken

Cause you can sing all you want to
Oh you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to, and still get it wrong
Oh worship is more than a song

We must not worship something that’s not even worth it

Clear the stage, make some space, for the one who
deserves it

Anything I put before my God is an idol
Anything I want with all my heart is an idol
Anything I can’t stop thinking of is an idol
And anything that I give all my love is an idol

Cause I can sing all I want to, yes I can
Sing all I want to
And we can sing all we want to
And we can Sing all we want to
We can sing all we want to and still get it wrong,
Worship is more than a song

Clear the stage and set the sounds and lights ablaze if
that’s the measure you must take to crush the idols"

Monday's Coming Mommas --and we're making memories.

Mrs. Billings,
"I thought I would not erase this. I am sorry my little sister got into this, but now it is a sweet memory because we recently got seven chicks and Emmyn thought she would draw one {on my piano instruction book} which we are all assuming is the one she named, Big Bird."

I guess we have a choice what kind of memory we'll make each day =)

Enjoy making memories today, friends!

Monday's Coming Mommas --and the laundry's still there

The baby didn't sleep and the toilet didn't work. The friend didn't call and raise didn't come. The car didn't start and the bills didn't get paid. The church didn't work out, and the kids fought all day. The school work didn't get planned, the lunches didn't get made.

The weather wasn't agreeable, the grocery store, too full. The oil didn't get changed and the trees didn't get planted. The freeze killed the garden and the toys are still strewn all over the yard. The mother didn't care and the son didn't call. The little one felt hot to the touch and you don't feel so good. The chemo didn't work, the big break didn't come, the prayer wasn't answered.

The letter didn't get written, the book didn't get read. The cake wasn't baked and the memory wasn't made. The grocery list was never started and the coupons never clipped. The jog never happened and the cupcake tasted so good. The husband didn't say sorry, in fact he didn't even care.

But you know what? The Father saw it all. And He is always there.

It isn't what happens to you that defines who you are -- it's how you react to it that determines whose you are.   oh.my.goodness.i.needed.to.hear.that.

“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  Matthew 6:25-30 NLT

Happy Monday, Mommas!

Monday's Coming, Mommas

When it's President's Day, drag out  that big bag of popsicle sticks you bought four years ago at a garage sale for 25 cents and build a log cabin.

Instead of cursing your old windows that are so cold in the winter and practically rain inside your home on cold days... make them into a paining canvas.

Let the baby sit and play.

Explore the sunsets.

Watch the oldest and youngest play together.

When you knock down the wasp nest; take time to research it.

Make your own birthday cakes, they really will love it.

Let them explore the woods right in their own bedroom on cold days.

Let them splash in the water, even when there's snow on the ground.

Take your little guy, pj's and all, for hang time. Cocoa and cards at the local diner will work just fine.

You don't need two, just squeeze everyone on to one.

When there's nothing else to do, field trip to the pet store.

Let them bring they're frogs in the house.

Don't forget to take pictures with them.

Teach them one of your favorite recipes.

Peek in on them when they're being quiet.

Let them dig in your cupboard and create new games.

Let the little one do what the big ones do.

Let them sleep just a little longer.

Because there are lots of moments that steal our joy throughout the day, savor the little moments that create joy.

Have a happy Monday, Mommas!
